Paint Like No One's Watching
A 4-Week Live Creative Workshop for Freedom, Confidence and Personal Expression Starts Sept 27 · Live on Zoom · Replays Included If you’ve ever stared at a blank page and felt frozen — or torn up your work before anyone could see it — this is for you. “Paint Like No One’s Watching” is a live, coaching-infused workshop to help you let go of perfection, quiet your inner critic, and create with more joy, trust, and freedom.
Stop Overthinking. Start Creating.
You’ll be guided step-by-step through an expressive, intuitive process using mark-making, abstraction, and collage — with feedback, mindset coaching, and encouragement along the way. This approach is rooted in The Intuitive Framework — a flexible, creative process I’ve developed to help artists like you let go of perfectionism, reconnect with your voice, and create from a place of flow and freedom. It’s not about following rules. It’s about learning a structure that supports your instincts, not stifles them. This is a coaching-infused, limited enrollment experience in a private community where you get seen, supported, and inspired. ------------------------ This workshop is for beginning and seasoned artists ready to break from perfectionism, reconnect with their creative voice, and make art that feels personal and alive.
You don’t need more techniques — you need a shift in how you create.
Before: blank pages, overthinking, perfectionism, that feeling of being stuck in your head. After: creative momentum, finished pieces, confidence in your instincts, and a renewed sense of joy in your art. This is where you reconnect with the artist you already are — and finally give yourself permission to show up fully.
What people are saying
Here’s what people are saying about the inspiration, creative freedom, and inner transformations they found through my past workshops and sessions.
"Lynette Melnyk is a great teacher. I've grown as an artist because I worked with her. I learned to see a problem area in my artwork as an opportunity to analyze and grow instead of a source of frustration."
Artist
"Thank you for all the messages and insights that you give. They are invaluable. Since practising with your ideas, I've started enjoying my art so much more, have produced some very satisfying pieces and am about to exhibit my first small triptych titled 'Sunrise, Noon, Sunset, using black, white and gold acrylic. Thank you for your generosity."
Australia
"Thank you so much for providing this workshop. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it. I can't believe what a difference the black mat made. It showed you where the little works of art were hiding. I'll definitely give this a try."
Artist
"Looking for a kick start to my art practice, I had a wonderful experience with Lynette who provided an inspiring experience. New and forgotten techniques were explored in mark making, in layering with a variety of tools and media, and in composing the artwork as it evolves. I was impressed with Lynette’s thorough preparation and comprehensive knowledge. Highly recommended!"
B.C., Canada
"Amazing course! It helped me find the courage to express my own voice."
California
"Lynette is a fabulous teacher. She is truly able to take her students with her on her creative journey by working without preplanning her steps, making the experience authentic. She does a great job of expressing her intuitive process as she is going so her students receive the benefit of hearing her voice the thoughts that comes from her many years of experience. I would highly recommend this course."

What You’ll Learn and Experience
Week 1 — Freedom
We’ll start by letting go of rules and judgment, diving into playful mark-making and abstract backgrounds. It’s about reconnecting with your fearless creative spark — trusting the process instead of the outcome. Many artists tell me they feel a mindset shift after this first session — a sense of freedom they haven’t felt in years.
Week 2 — Discovery
We’ll explore cropping and composition, maybe adding collage or mixed elements, to find the “gems” in your work — those small parts that feel just right. This helps you begin shaping your story in a way that feels true to you. You’ll create a beautiful mini collage that might surprise you — a piece of art pulled from instinct, not overthinking.
(Rest Week)
A gentle pause to keep painting, reflect, and let things percolate.
.
Week 3 — Trust
We’ll deepen your creative confidence by exploring more with composition and balance as you learn to trust your eye and intuition to guide you — no more second-guessing.
Week 4 — Integration
Finally, you’ll gather your favorite pieces into a one-of-a-kind artist book — a beautiful, personal keepsake that reflects your personal visual language — something real, tactile, and yours. And reminds you of how far you’ve come.
Plus... A Mindset Shift
Tips throughout the weeks to manage the inner critic so you can create with more freedom, confidence, presence, and emotional depth.

I’ll guide you through expressive mark-making, layering, and composition — not just as techniques, but as tools for transformation. Let’s explore what happens when you give your creativity the freedom it’s been asking for. Let's bring out the magic that is already in you!
What people are saying:
"I was drawn to taking the workshop because I have admired Lynette’s work, and I wanted to learn about her process. Lynette is a great teacher who asks lots of questions of each student as they make marks and use various tools. This really heightened the experience of play, and trial and error. I became more and more confident because there wasn't a wrong way of trying anything. I’m going to keep making marks and using asemic writing in my work now as I see it is an important way for me to express my thoughts and emotions as I paint. Lynette has also instilled in me a desire to simplify my work – to show areas of rest, pause, and reflection." --- Greta Baack

This Is Not For You If…
- You’re looking for step-by-step tutorials or want to copy someone else’s style. - You only want to learn technical art skills without diving into personal expression or reflection. - You’re uncomfortable with mess, experimentation, or emotional vulnerability in your creative process. - You’re hoping for fast results or “finished” art pieces over inner growth and discovery. - You expect to passively watch instead of actively engaging with the process, prompts, and materials. This workshop is a co-creative journey. You’ll get time to learn, experiment, reflect, and make meaning. If you’re open to growth, willing to explore, and ready to trust your creative voice… this is for you.

FAQs
Q: Is This an Art Class or a Coaching Program? A: It’s a bit of both, but with a twist! This isn’t your typical art class with step-by-step instructions or rigid techniques. Instead, you’ll explore your creativity through a blend of abstract mark-making, playful art prompts, and coaching exercises designed to unlock your personal style. You’ll dive into composition and background work, and also tap into mindset tools that help you overcome self-doubt and embrace your creative flow. It’s all about trusting your instincts, silencing your inner critic, and creating with confidence. Q: Do I need to attend all four workshops? A: Each 2 hour live session builds on the last, but also stands on its own. You’ll get the most out of the full arc, but each session is a complete creative experience. If you miss one, you can catch up with the replay. And ask questions to get personal feedback. Q: What if I can’t attend live? A: No problem. All sessions are recorded, and you’ll have access to the replays for one year after the final workshop. You’ll also receive prompts and check-ins between sessions to keep your creativity flowing. Q: I’m not confident in my art skills. Is this for me? A: Absolutely. This series is about expression, not perfection. You’ll be guided step-by-step, and there’s no “right” way to participate. Beginners and seasoned artists alike will benefit. Q: Will I get feedback or support? A: Yes! This is a live, interactive experience. You’ll get feedback and guidance during sessions and in the private community portal, opportunities to share your work, and mid-week prompts with space to reflect or ask questions between meetings. Q: How many people will be in the group? A: Enrollment is limited to keep this space personal and supportive. You’ll be part of a trusted group of expressive artists, that is just the right size, for creating together and being inspired by one another in a shared experience. Q: What do I need to bring? A: A simple supply list will be sent after you enroll — but you won’t need fancy supplies. Think mixed media basics: paper, brushes, acrylics, collage scraps, glue stick, and anything you have on hand. Q: What if I feel shy about sharing my work? A: That’s totally okay — and totally normal. There’s no pressure to share if you’re not ready. This space is designed to be safe and supportive, so you can participate at your own comfort level. Quiet growth is still growth. Q: Will this workshop be offered again? A: I may offer it again in the future, but not in this exact format — and not at this price. If it calls to you, now’s the time. Q: What platform will we be using? A: All live sessions are hosted on Zoom. You'll also get access to a private online portal (no social media required) for all replays, prompts, and resources. Q: How much time will I need between sessions? A: The mid-week prompts are optional, and you can spend as much or as little time on them as you like. Most artists spend 1-2 hours between sessions for reflection, experimentation, or finishing a piece — but it’s totally up to you. Q: What is the Refund Policy A: Due to the live, limited-capacity nature of this workshop series, all sales are final. That said, I want you to feel good about your enrollment. If something comes up or you're unsure if this is right for you, please reach out before the first session. I'm happy to help you decide.
